leadership
mastermas.com publishes a report tittled Los trabajadores españoles explican cuáles son los comportamientos más irritantes de sus jefes (spanish employees explain the most irritating behaviour in their boss). The study shows the results of a survey given through the top 34 manager´s behaviours. The most common ones are:
1. No communication of goals (46%).
2. No motivation (44%).
3. No fluent communication (32%).
4. No listening (32%).
5. No leading, just ordering (32%).
6. No teaching, no training (31%).
7. Frequent contradictions (31%).
8. Managing incompetence (29%).
9. No time management, also for collaborators (28%).
10. Often stressed (27%).
Conclusion: We can check that communications is the weakest point in the survey. Cosidering that one of the main reasons for leaving a job is the relationship whith the management, is important to work on it. The steps to follow would be: measuring, diagnosis, action plan and monitoring.
Is not a trivial matter. Behind it, many lacks: lack of self-confidence, bussines unknowledgement, lack of trust in collaborators, lack of charisma, no team working, fears, lack of planification, no recognising priorities… Many reasons and just one solution. TO COMMUNICATE.
There is a tool that doesn´t lie. Our diaries. They let us know the time that we dedicate to communicate to out working team…let´s be courageous and have a look on it.
