internal communications
What are the new tendencies in HR talks? We are listening everyday to talk about attraction, retention and management of the talent. We aim to get the best people for our organization. But this is something else than paying high salaries, low work load or some other ideas like them.
In the path to turn the internal communication into a management tool, we need to think about its characteristics. Is time to analyze the descendant communication.
Everybody know what it means, and everybody know that it´s the most used channel of communication in companies, why? perhaps because it´s the one which requires lower effort. All kind of information is out through this channel and in most of the cases a feedback is not expected.
Another reason why this way of communication is more common than other ones, is that the followed direction is the same than the hierarchy one, from top to the bottom. When both “strength” , hierarchy and communication, work together, is easy to understand that they will reach every corner in the organization.
Ascendant communication …how easy to say and how difficult to channel. There is no doubt that it´s most efficent channel within the internal communication, but also the most difficult to design, formalize and promote.
Jack Welch said it clearly: ´we are moving to a world where the importance is in the capacity to motivate professionals in the organization´. A new organizational model based in dialog, pillars of the net-society, the transparency and the implication of every employee, point at internal communication as the prime tool to get it.
